Pinchy baby :(

DD is 8 months old and pinches and pulls and scratches my breast/chest whilst feeding. I come away from each feed, especially at night, feeling like my boob went 10 rounds with a meat tenderizer :( I understand a certain amount of kitten like kneading can be expected but this just leaves me so sore!

Any ideas on how to ease this? When I try to stop her she pulls off and starts screaming at me :(

My 5 month old does this too- but if there's a bra strap/tshirt/scarf between her fist and the boob she'll claw at that instead. She will also accept me holding her hand if I occasionally pretend to eat it Grin.

Might your DD accept something soft to hold (muslin square, small teddy etc) that would keep her mits occupied and your boobs scratch-free?!

Hand holding is a massive no :( I used to let her play with my face but she got too rough. Neck wear was no good as she'll grab my chest as well, not tried a teddy though, will give that a try.

Also find that the hand underneath gets hold of nipple, or skin when I pin it under my arm. Do they ever get gentler?
