Weaned child asking for milk a year on?

DS is 4.2 and stopped BFing not long after his third birthday. He was down to a bedtime feed only by then anyway and seemed happy enough to drop it.

But the last 3 days for no apparent reason he has been telling me he wants some milk and when I offered some he said no, I mean milk from you mummy.

Is this something they just do, or is it a sign of something? He started reception a few weeks ago but hasn't seemed bothered by that, he's quite tired as we've been away this weekend too. But he hasn't even seen anyone BFing in the last few days so can't think what's reminded him! I just feel a bit sad as I always intended to let him self wean and in the end I had enough and did push him towards stopping when he'd probably have carried on if left to his own devices.
