We have had an extremely sicky baby/ colicky baby since birth, now 11wks. We tried everything from osteopathy to gaviscon etc etc. Recently we tried a product called colief which actually breaks down the lactose enzymes that stomachs can have trouble digesting. We noticed quite a significant improvement in his feeding and pains although not a cure. Surely if this suggests he has trouble breaking down those enzymes himself, he has some kind of mild intolerance and would he benefit from soya formula. I have read quite a few threads on negatives sides of soya formule, any advice would be gratefully received?

My friend has a sicky baby and uses a milk called SMA staydown. She gets it on prescription from the doctor. It has worked wonders. I know nothing about soya milk though sorry. I can sympathise about the colic though. All of my children have suffered really badly with it too,.

If you suspect lactose intolerance you really need to speak to a doctor to get it properly diagnosed (and you can get lactose free milks on prescription)

Does your baby have greenish smelly poos? If so, then he may be lactose intolerant. If unsure then please talk to your doctor. It is possible that your baby is just colicky though.
