Pre bedtime feed an absolute nightmare - please help, I'm desperate

Please please help! DD2 is just over two weeks old, I was breastfeeding but I absolutely hated it the first time and persevered for longer than I really wanted to even though it made me miserable so this time I gave up during the day at about day 10 and then gave up during the night two nights ago. However these two nights of giving formula before bed have been an absolute hideous nightmare. She just takes two or three gulps and then gets worked up into a frenzied crying state from which it takes the minutes to calm her down before you can get her to take any more milk. Last night it was an hour and a half of trying to give her milk / settle her before she finally went off to sleep, and tonight my OH is upstairs with her now after an hour of screaming. DD1 was a really difficult baby in the early weeks and I really struggled to cope with it and I was really hoping this would be different but both my partner and I aren't the most patient people and we find these episodes a real struggle to deal with. I have ended up in tears both nights and my OH has just come down to say he can't cope and is there any way I could breastfeed her? We have been using the Dr Brown's bottles as we had them from last time and they did seem to help with DD1 but has anyone else gone through something similar in the switch from breast to bottle at night? I'm so desperate, any advice is hugely welcome. Thanks
