Reusing a breast pump for DC2

I've seen lots of advice on how you shouldn't use a second hand pump as they aren't closed systems and milk can get into part of the pump that can't be cleaned so it's not great for women to share a pump. I can't find any advice on whether it's ok to use a pump for a second child? Do most people buy new pumps or just replace tubing etc?

I have never heard of any one ever buying a second one. Loads share and pass on hand me downs

Never occurred to me to buy a new one - DC2 seems fine!

Doodle you shouldn't share pumps unless they have a closed system. The milk can get all around an open system and therefore any illnesses that can be passed on via breastmilk can theoretically be shared. I think it's a small risk but not really work it for me.

You might need to give the tubes and inside the motor a good clean I case of mouldy milk, but I'd reuse a pump for a second child.
