This morning we found a little beetle feeding and moving around happily inside our baby's Cow and Gate Premium formula . The box was almost new (opened yesterday and kept always closed) and the bug was in the middle of the formula (I found it when I dip the scoop) so we are 100% sure that it was already there when we bought it. We phoned the company and the Food Standard Agency. The company offered us some free formula, which we obviously refused, and the Agency will start an investigation.
We are appalled and also quite frustrated because we dont know which formula use now. Aptimil makes her constipated, Cow and Gate Organic windy and with Sma the poo is strange (with lots of bits and she seems in pain when she pooes. Anyone has feedback on Hipp or Farleys (the only ones we havent tried)?

Me and all my brothers were fed on Farleys, my mum swore by it.
Also my SIL usedit for her Dd1, always a big happy healthy baby!

Thanks, I may give Farley a try, then.

I used Hipp from dd being 7mo, she always did really well on it. (she couldn't bear SMA)

surely this sort of thing could happen in any brand of formula milk, although I agree it's alarming - just not sure why you should go to the hassle of switching brands.

Unfortunatly regardless of how careful these companies are with their manufacturing process, things can get contaminated, although it should be a rare occurance

I found a matchstick in a pie once (serves me right for eating pies )
