I'm starting to express milk to store for the future but have got no idea how much to store as I have no idea how much my DS drinks. How much is a good amount to store at a time?

Thanks Lori

Apparently babies need 150ml per kg per 24 hours - so if your baby weighs say 6kg, thats 150ml x 6kg =900ml, and you divide it by the number of feeds per day to get the amount per feed - so for 9 feeds a day it would be 100ml per feed.

I've just started freezing breastmilk for my 11 week old who is just under 6kg and am freezing 120ml - 150ml portions if that helps.

You can also get ice-cube trays so you can freeze 1fl oz portions - apparently they defrost quicker that way. I think the perfectly happy people catalogue does them.
