tips for bottle feeding expressed milk

Hi, i've been breast feeding my 3 1/2 month old exclusively but want to try expressing some and bottle feeding to give me a bit of a break. We tried this today with my husband giving him the bottle. Straight in the mouth and started sucking fine until he nearly choked. Tired a few times but he just got upset. Is this because the milk was coming out too fast? it's a slow flow Tippee Tommee bottle. Should i just go straight for a cup or are some bottles better? Which cup should we start with? Any help is gratefully received....

Not sure, sorry!

But if you want to try a cup, you could use a "doidy cup" which has slanty sides so is easier to drink from.

Thank you, think i'll give the cup a go.

It could be how you are holding having the bottle, more horizontal with only an oz or two in it would make it slower and warming the milk may help it feel more like normal for him.
Also with bottles the milk keeps coming even when they stop sucking so tipping the bottle back a bit to give him a rest should help as well.
