... one of those pyjama case dolls, a baby stella, a fisher price glow worm, iggle piggle, a large inflatable tiger, baby Stella's dummy(!), Dora the Explorer... and LO has just run up with a big grin and another baby doll! I hope this isn't the new bedtime routine...

Grin I think I recall daughter telling me she'd breastfed a rubber duck in the bath for her baby...
leedy · 05/09/2014 22:54

I've fed a stuffed bunny and a tractor.

IUsedToUseMyHands · 06/09/2014 13:30

Ha ha @ a tractor! At least mine were mostly humanoid!

In the last few weeks I've done a matchbox dodge viper, Lightning McQueen, also a tractor, Mickey Mouse, a little toy chick and a wee doll.

They 'need milk too mummy' according to DS2.

DD4 once hoisted the cat up for some. Cat was having none of that malarkey thank God.

TipTapWentTheCrab · 10/09/2014 21:34

lol!
My rule is I will only bf a toy with a face.
So plastic alien: OK.
A book: no.

DD has only once "bf"ed a toy herself. Anyone else's do this?

weegiemum · 10/09/2014 21:38

My ds used to feed animals up his jumper at toddler group.

And he used to harangue bottle-feeding mums.

Lucky his speech wasn't too clear back then!

mathanxiety · 11/09/2014 04:31

My DD2 and one of her little friends in their class at age 4 had been breastfed for an extended period (both would have been weaned at just about age 3). Apparently they used to chat together about how nice it was, and they used topless Barbies from the doll bin in the classroom to reenact bfing scenes. I heard all this from their teacher, who thought it was incredibly funny.

mathanxiety · 11/09/2014 04:32

I think that is possibly the last thing Mattel Inc imagined their product would be used for.

thisvelvetglove · 11/09/2014 13:29

Hmm maybe I should make rules tiptap

Ligtning McQueen has face = ok.

Tractor with no face = no.

And yes he 'feeds' toys sometimes too.

Haahoooo · 11/09/2014 13:35

Haha! This has never happened here (yet)! Can't imagine pretending to bf a tractor!

But DD (2) often wants to breastfeed her baby brother. So sweet.

BlessThisMess · 11/09/2014 13:41

I distinctly remember having to bf Thomas the Tank Engine. Even if I'd thought of the face rule (which is brilliant btw) I wouldn't have got out of that one!

steppemum · 11/09/2014 13:41

ds used to sit next to me while I bf dd, he hitched up his Tshirt and bf his teddy at the same
very cute.

TipTapWentTheCrab · 11/09/2014 22:33

love it, particularly the breastfeeding barbies!

mathanxiety I'm really interested to hear that your 4yo still remembered bfing so long afterwards - when did she forget? / has she?

mathanxiety · 12/09/2014 01:47

She really only finished with breastfeeding when she was almost 3, and I know she remembered it because when I was bfing DD3 (born almost 3 years after DD2) she would often tell me how nice it had been, though she accepted she had moved on and never asked for any. I know she remembers the conversations with her friend as she mentioned them and their preschool exploits when we unearthed a box of naked Barbies when I was moving a couple of years ago. Her friend from age 4 is very much a BFF, but I sort of doubt they revisit those times together as they are both 19 now. I'm not sure if she remembers exactly what bfing was like and tbh I think I would feel a bit hesitant to ask, but I know she at least remembers the chats as a 4 yo.

fascinating, thank you
