Freezing formula?

Can anybody tell me if it's safe?

I wouldn't have imagined it was a good idea for a full bottle, though I think I froze the odd thing for weaning that had a tiny bit of formula in. Is there a reason you want to freeze it?

Do you mean to make baby ice lollies, or that kind of thing?

Jonkastique · 10/08/2014 19:25

It's a baby mush recipe I've made that called for cows milk. My lo isn't quite six months, so I substituted formula ( she was ebf until about a week ago).

I popped it in the freezer and then thought maybe it wasn't safe. Nothing mentioned either way on tin.

I should have used cows milk...she's had cheese already and loved it!

you can freeze formula if its mixed with food so it should be fine

I am sure I did that when mine were little, and they are strapping 17, 19, and21-year-old lads now, no ill effects at all.

It might slightly change the taste, but I can't imagine it would be unsafe.
