my dd is 5.5mths, fully breastfed...big baby...during the last 10days her appetite seems to have dropped off...she feeds well at night but seems less interested during the day. i think shes teething...could that be it? also, my breasts always used to feel full IYKWIM at least 3 or 4 times a day, partic in morning (altho' that was when she was sleeping 8 hours without waking, which she hasnt done for 6 weeks) but now this is rarely the case... am i losing my milk? she always seems to get milk from them but i wonder if she gets enough. she rarely feeds from both sides during a feed as feeds onlly seem to last 10-15mins these days (bedtime feed is longer). Is she just quicker or is something going wrong with the feeding. I feel I have lost track of what's normal for a 5 mth old. Help! thanks.

This is totally normal, Spod.....babies beyond the newborn stage can often be very efficient in getting the milk, and you are v. efficient at letting down. It often takes a lot less time. You don't feel full ? Normal! Well-established bf is like this - responsive to the demands of the baby without over-producing, and the fatty tissue in the breast is now replaced by milk-making and storing tissue. You are not losing your milk. Most women experience what you are experiencing. Hope this reassures you - call one of the bf helplines if you need to speak to someone.
