im on day 10 of breast feeding and iv got a blocked duct, iv been massaging it and trying to hand express but I cant seam to shift it.

i got the lansinoh hot/cold gel pads yesterday going to heat it up tomorrow and put that on what else can I do?

would pumping be better than hand expressing

also when hand expressing I know you work round the areola but should I work down from the blockage or still just near the areola (if that makes sence)

Try massaging under a warm shower and holding the shower head over the blockage.

Generally, a pump is more effective than hand. Try and massage the area of the blockage whilst pumping, deep firm strokes towards nipple.

If you are breast feeding i found baby feeding regularly was best for clearing blockage. Plus hand express/massage in a hot shower
