Cows milk alternative

Hi, just wondering what milk people have found their lo's like if they don't like cows milk. Dd2 is 14 months and still bf's twice per day but refuses cows milk completely. I find expressing really tough so that's not really an option!

DS1 didn't like cow's milk to drink so he just didn't have any once I stopped breastfeeding. He had some on cereal, yoghurt and cheese instead.

Thanks, I'm trying to make sure she gets plenty of dairy in her diet but I would love her to like milk, she doesn't even try it!!

Are you stopping breastfeeding? They don't need much cow's milk after 12 months, only about 300ml including in food and that's only if you're not breastfeeding.

I am currently night weaning her as she has being waking up about 6 x per night and wanted boob to fall back to sleep. I stopped feeding her to sleep about 6 weeks ago as I thought this may help but it hasn't, the night weaning isn't going well either as she gets so cross when I don't feed her. DH can't really help in the night so unless things improve I think my next step will be to stop all together as I wonder whether I'm just confusing her!!
My first dd loved breastfeeding but loved cows milk just as much so breastfeeding came to a very natural ending when we were both ready, this time however it's much harder, I always offer water in the night but it's mostly refused. I think I would feel much more confident refusing feeds in the night if she had drunk a big cup of milk beforehand
(Please no flamings about denying dd of what she needs etc, this is not a decision that I made lightly!!!)

DS1 didn't like cow's milk as a drink so I just didn't give it to him - once they're having other dairy/sources of calcium and plenty of fluids they're getting everything they'd get from cow's milk. Had no problem night weaning him either (you can definitely night wean without stopping entirely), or indeed eventually weaning completely.

Toddlers don't actually need cow's/other milk, and there are plenty of places where people lose the ability to digest milk after weaning. If she doesn't like it I wouldn't push it, it's just another food at that age, not something essential or especially satisfying. You could give her a snack before bedtime instead?
