Lumpy breast milk?

I was just feeding my 3 week old and when he pulled off I noticed what appeared to be lumps of milk around my nipple and around his mouth, as if my milk has fatty lumps. He went back and finished off and there was no more at the end of the feed. There were only a few but it has concerned me a little, does anyone know what this is?

Hi Eminybob, that sounds to me like partially digested breastmilk. Maybe your little one had a little posset/burp at the start of the feed and some curdled/clotted milk from his tummy came up from an earlier feed.

Oh thanks that makes sense. I thought it had come out of me like that!
