Advice on Aptamil number 2

Does anybody know what the reasons would be for switching to aptmil number two. DS1, 91/2 weeks the in says 5 feeds per day at 170ml each. He seems to need six feeds but cannot take the 170ml quantity. he sleeps from about 7pm til 2 am but then does not realy go back to sleep after that. Someone suggested aptamil 2...any advice???

i wouldn't bother with it.

How much does he weigh?

A guide per 24 hrs is 2-3ozs per lb in weight.

So 10lb = 20-30ozs over 24hrs / by number of feeds, at this age i would assume 6-7 feeds every 24 approx 03-04,07,10,13,16,19,23.

He weighed 12lb 2 yesterday.

So 24-36ozs >5oz feeds, 6 if he empties the bottle.

the difference between first amd second formulas is the ratio of whey-light and easy to digest and curds-heavy and takes longer, i just increase volume else baby could decrease ozs as not as empty.

But that's just it, he can't seem to take the quantity, but would probably like to feed more often, maybe eight smaller bottles??? And that obviously doen't help him sleep for long at night

I tried switching since a friend told me that number 2 takes longer to digest. Made no difference to amount my dd was consuming or amount of time she slept. Couple of weeks later she was sleeping through the night because she had gradually increased the amount she was taking at each feed.
