Bedtime Feed

I am after some advice please!

My dd is almost 1. She still BF a lot. Although, unlike my other DC she has always been happy to take the occasional bottle when i am out. This was expressed bm for the first 6 months, then formula when I caould express enough for a feed after about 6 months.

Dd sleeps in her cot until around 10pm then comes into bed with me and feeds on and off all night. Last night she woke and after a day of her being very clingy & whingy and BF constantly I was sore & decided to give her a bottle. She drained the bottle like she had never been fed then went to sleep in her cot until 3am!

So, now I wondering if it would be a good idea to give her a bottle at bedtime. I wonder if I have enough milk left for her by the evening. As she is a couple of weeks off 1, would it be better to give her full fat cows milk or stick with formula?

I am out of my comfort zone as none of my other DCs ever had a bottle. I fed DC3 until 2.5yrs and never felt as "empty" as I do now.

Any advice?

I don't think one bottle of formula a day will have any impact on your supply if that's what you're asking, especially at almost 1. I don't think sleeping better after a bottle indicates a supply problem either - if they sleep longer it's just because you can get more milk into them quicker with a bottle, and formula/cow's milk is harder to digest.

I'm not too worried about supply, more that I think she might need something extra at night. At 1yo, is cows milk ok or should I stick to formula? Thanks for your reply!

Cow's milk is fine.
