How soon after giving birth did your baby bf?

And did you put baby to the breast yourself or did baby seek the breast?

First two were in scbu so had ebm.

Third - straight away when they gave him to me when I was in recovery( all were sections).

I think about 40 mins. I had an ELCS, so it was after I had been sewn back together and wheeled back onto the ward. He stayed put for 48 hours then my milk came in. Fed him for 6 months (despite 2 bouts of mastitis Hmm)

After my ELCS he latched on in recovery about an hour after he was born - midwife had to help.

We had to be helped to get him to latch on and I had a tough start to BFing but 4 months in, I love it now,

Not for 7 days as he was in intensive care being tube fed. As soon as he had the chance though he latched straight on!

Like Dashoflime - DS was prem so whisked off to SCBU and I expressed for weeks before being allowed to feed myself. Did feel very much like a dairy cow for those weeks, specially after I had gone home.
