Any tips on weaning dd onto a bottle????

hi, my dd is 5 months and i have decided i want to stop b/feeding, as im will be returning to work ! Any tips on getting her onto a bottle? she will not take bottle from dp and when i try she doen't really suck onthe teat properly. Any one got any tips on which bottle to use, im using tommee tippee close to nature at the moment!

Am currently in process of stopping BFing my 4 month old ds but he seems very attached to my boobs!

I use the avent bottles and teats but tbh ds has been used to a bottle since a few weeks when i expressed for him. Just stick with it and it will happen - my dd took a few weeks to get use to a bottle and i never thought she would have one! I just stuck at it and one day she had a full 8oz!!

I'm currently only BFing morning and night and he has 3 bottles during the day of formula.

I dropped one bf a week and found my boobs didnt get too sore this way.

Just a thought but with ds I went straight onto a small beaker at 5 months,as he flatly refused bottles.It was nuk one with handles.Obviously at this age they need assistance with it.dd is still boob obsessed at 9 months but will messily take sips from a lidless beaker and thats it.I do believe that you can get bottles that are breast shaped but dont know which manufacture (sure someone will help.)Will baby have EBM or is it the bottles that are the problem???

Have been trying to get dd to take to the bottle for 6 weeks and she is 14 weeks old now. I have tried all sorts of different teats and bottles and i feel it is the bottle she doesn't like and no matter which type u try so I have now stuck to one to stop confusion. in the last 2 days she took a few sips of water from the bottle so there is hope that she will take some milk soon. I am also going to try the training cup in the next few weeks. good luck.

I'm afraid I haven't any advice as I am in exactly the same boat...it is reassuring to know I'm not alone. My return to work date is looming closer (about 7 weeks time...boooo!)and I'm getting abit worried as my dd will take a bottle of ebm from me, sometimes her dad but from no one else!
I've been told that if she is hungry she will take it but she gets herself in such a state crying its awful and then she is too unsettled to drink from the bottle.

i been trying an orthodontic teat with a ordinary bottle( not a wide neck) and my dd has taken to it straight away. The teats i haven been usin are nuk orthodontic which i found in superdrug 2 for £1.99 and you an buy a nuk bottle but there are abou £.99 for one! other benefit they have an anti-colic dimple in the the teat. I hope this helps anyone!

I'm also in the same situation. I go back to work tomorrow for a few hours in the evening and Saturday morning. DS has eaten from a bottle before but i've not been consistent enough with him. I bought those new Tommee Tippee closer to nature bottles. No luck, and have tried the normal Tommee Tippee ones, Avent ones, even a doidy cup! I also tried a Haberman feeder. I even have one of those breastbottle (Airdri) things coming!

My mum looked after him a few weeks ago and he went 7 hours without a feed. I went out at 7pm and got back at 1am to a hungry baby. I have started to wean him, and he loves what we give him, but he still needs his booby milk!

He likes to try to drink his bath water, so maybe we should put him in a bath of milk?

MAM ULTIvent fit Avent and most wide necked bottles tho not NUK, Chicco, TT-C2N.

Have found this the most easily accepted.

I have a MAM ULTIvent coming as well, lol. We shall see!

the nuk orthodontic teat has worked for me! i managed to give my dd 3 bottles today with no fuss or tears! 10/10

all that money i have spent on blooming bottles and the cheapest works for me in the end! lol
