10 week old crying when feeding from the right breast

DS2 is 10 weeks and ebf. He's always had a bit of trouble latching on and would happily suck until milk came then just stop and let it pour into his mouth (cant remember DS1 doing this!).

I had oversupply at first but solved that by block feeding.

The last week or so he's cried at most feeds, and always in the evening. He'll suck at the right breast, hit it with his fist then start crying. There is definitely milk and its not a forceful letdown so I really dont know why.

With the left breast he's happier although often pulls off and cries too although I can squeeze milk out so its not a supply issue.

Im wondering if its now too slow coming out but dont know what I can do.

DS1 fed for 2 years and never had this problem.

My DS often does the same, so I'm interested in what others might have to say. Sorry I can't be of any help.

Bumping for us both!

My DS had trouble feeding off my left side until I realised my metallic watch band was either cold or pulling his hair! Check simple things like this first.

Most likely DS isn't being held quite the same way, best to try and get his head higher than his bottom to angle his body downwards... or try a football hold with him under your arm, laying down etc.

Or it might be flow is different, mine did eventually wean off the right breast earlier than the left... so they can show a preference.

Infection in his left ear? Have you tried a rugby hold to see if he can suck from your right boob with his right ear down?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried the rugby hold - no luck. He seems ok if im standing and walking but thats exhausing and uncomfortable for me!

I dont wear jewellery in the house so it cant be that.
