Consistently sore left nipple

I'm hoping someone might have some new ides for me....I BF my first child and never had any problems with sore nipples or breasts. Number 2 is now 5 1/2 weeks old and I have had two bouts of mastitis in my left breast and my left nipple feels sore most of the time. I've seen a BF counsellor who said things looked fine. I'm also finding that the absolute longest he goes between feeds is 3 hours but during the day the longest he goes is about 90 mins. He also does a lot of head tossing on the breast which is painful. He's putting on weight fine though. I'm just getting a bit fed up of the soreness and wondering whether to jack it in. Any ideas on how to make it better?

Have you tried different positions? The rugby hold may replicate the latch he has on your right boob.

Some people swear by cranial osteopathy for this sort of thing, particularly after a forceps delivery, but I don't know anything about that tbh. Someone may come along soon who does.

Congratulations on your lovely newborn.
