Sad to be stopping bfing

Dd is 23 months and I've always bf her, in the last 6 months just at bed time. I went out last night so bf put her to bed, tonight I've put her down with a bottle and no boob.
I know this is the end of feeding her and I feel really sad. Hmm

You will.. you'll get the blues because of hormone changes. Breastfeeding makes that lovely snuggle hormone and it misses it when it's gone.

It'll pass in a few days.

I was gutted, too. Sobbed all over the lovely hv. It got better gradually, and now I just have the occasional pang.

I wouldn't think it is the end. Sometimes they have a 2/3 day of no boob and then come running back.

If it is the end, I suggest a treat for yourself (think of all the money you have saved in formula and cows milk over the last 23 months!) and make a big thing about cuddles! Dd and I love our cuddles now, and we stopped at 29 months

It felt a little sad at the time but also I felt proud to go as long as I did too, so had a guey feeling that I'd done good and should see it as a positive.

Ah thanks. Yeah treating myself would be a nice treat.
I just can't really decide if I want to stop, I love the snuggles and the bond it gives us!

I got to a point where I'd had enough if I'm honest. Dd was nearly there and I gave her a slight nudge to stop. I then brought myself a Bose Bluetooth speaker for the house!! Grin funnily enough I put the music on today and thought about breastfeeding so it has a nice sentiment to me now.

My partner is always on at me to stop, it was getting annoying him bugging me!!! Mind you I might go and give her some tmrw just to keep producing! It's a relief to know she can settle down for me without boob!!

Sad that partner isn't supportive. It's recommended to feed until 2!

I knowHmm, he was really all for it till she turned 1, then he reckoned she was getting too oldShock
In a way I feel like continuing just to annoy him! Wink
