Part 3!

Quick recap - DS, 17 weeks, EBF (stubborn little bottle refuser), crap sleeper! Super knackered Mummy, surviving on 1-2 hour sleeps :(

So I am hoping for a better night tonight seeing as bedtime went smoothly. Last night was hideous and I've eaten a twirl, a bounty and a salted caramel brownie today just to get through the day!

I don't believe it - he went just under 8 hours!!!!!!

What on earth is going on????

Writerwannabe83 · 05/09/2014 05:59

Aunt Maggie - I'm sorry your MIL didn't get to meet her grandchild, that's so sad. My MIL managed to hold DS the day he was born but that's the only time. I feel is sad for DS that he won't ever get to know his Grandma as she would have spoilt him rotten!!

mrsmugoo · 05/09/2014 07:53

Two feeds for us last night 1 & 5.

1am is a bit early really but he'd been awake about half an hour and wasn't resettling and started to do his hungry whingy moan so I fed him and he went straight back off.

Straight back off at 5 too, until 7

DS was back asleep by 6am after his feed and has just woke up. I honestly can't believe how well he has slept!

Please, please, PLEASE don't let this be a one-off.....

Cannotbelieveit · 05/09/2014 08:14

That's great writer! You give me hope. Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 05/09/2014 21:11

He finally fell asleep in my arms at 20.55 and I've just put him down in his cot. I'm just praying now that he stays asleep...

Cannotbelieveit · 05/09/2014 22:09

DS has been in bed since 8.30, let's see how tonight is Shock

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 00:59

Didn't even go 4 hours Confused

Cannotbelieveit · 06/09/2014 01:43

4 hours 45 and up Confused. Can't see how he will ever go back to sleeping thru.
I always leave him for at least 10-15 mins of thrashing/faffing to see if he will go back off too.
Sorry writer I really feel your pain.

Cariad007 · 06/09/2014 04:26

DS has been up a few times tonight as his nose is all bunged up from his cold, poor thing. He's sleeping (in his cot, yay!) atm but of course now I can't sleep. So I decided I'd go and put the washing up away. Big mistake. Dropped a pudding bowl, it shattered and cut my arm. Just a small cut but note to self: do not attempt housework when exhausted at 4 in the morning!

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 04:45

Awake again after another 3 hours. At least this time he was soothed back to sleep by rocking - although he appears to be stirring again Confused I would love to be able to reassure you cannot but I'm still waiting got him to sleep through 6 weeks after the regression started. Last night was definitely a one-off I dear.

Yep - he's crying again. FFS.

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 04:49

I've decided to just feed him back to sleep - I'm too tired to do anything else!!

Cariad - doing housework at 4am is pretty insane Grin I hope your arm isn't too sore!!!

Cannotbelieveit · 06/09/2014 07:34

He was up again at 4.20 to feed and up now! Ds1 up too (gonna make DH sort him)

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 07:57

Our babies seem to be in sync - little monster has just woke up this end too.

It wasn't his best night but nor was it his worse.

I think I'm going to take him to the spare room and dump him on DH so I can have a lie in Grin

Cannotbelieveit · 06/09/2014 08:33

Just finished feeding and took him to DH so come back to bed til 10ish (then tomorrow will be DH's turn to lie in)

DS is feeding more and as a result I'm ravenous all the time, so I can deffo see how the 4 month regression is linked to development/growth spurt

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 08:47

My boobs have only just settled down again as due to the sudden increased demand over the last 6-8 weeks they were going into overdrive with production!!

Does he nap well in the day???

mrsmugoo · 06/09/2014 08:51

Morning all - this one went from 8 to 3:30 then to 6:30 then to 7:30 so happy with that!

He napped like a champion yesterday getting his full 3 hours accross the day so was sweetness and light all day - more of this please!

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 12:53

Is that how long babies should be napping for missmugoo or it is just what you like to make sure your DS gets?

My DS is having his morning nap and he's been asleep for 2 hours so far. He doesn't seem himself today, really irritable and fractious, not wanting to be held but not wanting to be put down either Sad

He was exposed to the chicken pox virus 4 days ago so I'm wondering if perhaps he has caught it and symptoms are just showing...

Cariad007 · 06/09/2014 13:04

Oh dear, if he has caught it then it's not a very nice few days that you've got ahead of you Writer. On the other hand it's far better to get it now rather than later in life - I had it when I was 18 and it was awful.

DS refused to settle after his 6am feed so in desperation I gave him to DP who managed to get him to sleep for a few more hours in the spare room so I could get some kip. I don't feel great though - still knackered and I have a cough. DS is still sniffly and was v unsettled this morning, though he's asleep now. Will take him out for some fresh air this afternoon.

My arm is fine, albeit bruised now - Sudocrem worked wonders on the cut!

Cannotbelieveit · 06/09/2014 13:10

He usually naps fine in the day about 3-4 hours in total I think. Just need to crack the nights again!

mrsmugoo · 06/09/2014 13:35

Writer - no I'm just going by the recommended sleep amounts in the chart the HV gave me which was 10-12 hours at night, 3-4 in the day so about 14-15 hours in total. He pretty much NEVER gets this much though but if I can hit 3 hours napping in the day I count that as a success.

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 13:55

DS has just woke up after 2.5 hours and he seems much much happier. It was my sister who exposed him to the virus (she was diagnosed as having Shingles) so I'm having lots of fun making her feel guilty about it Grin

Cariad007 · 06/09/2014 19:55

DS ended up napping for nearly three hours this afternoon so naturally he's full of beans now, when he needs to sleep again! I want to try and institute an 8pm bedtime from now, so that I can watch Downtown when it returns!

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 19:56

I'm just taking mine up to bed now in the hope he will be asleep by 8.30pm. Can't see it happening to be honest.....

Writerwannabe83 · 06/09/2014 20:18

When you put your babies to bed do you but the baby monitor on and just leave them?
