teething and nursing strike?

My 5.5 ebf has woken up today with lots of crying and refusing to nurse. I have given some calpol, and once drowsy enough managed to get a small feed in.

She's not had a wet or dirty nappy all morning, and I'm having to express to deal with the discomfort. I'm assuming it's teething (recently lots of biting, ear pulling). Have read the content on Kellymom etc and called HV but still waiting for a call back. How long should I leave it before I try a syringe? Could I use the syringe that came with the calpol, or is that stupid? She has never taken a bottle, but I do have a sippy cup.

Will the syringe/cup need sterilising?

Thanks

Hi, has your dd had some fluids now? Has she had a wet nappy today?

If nothing yet then I would definitely be trying to get fluids of some sort into her with syringe or whatever. Personally I wouldn't bother with sterilising but I'm somewhat lax about that kind of thing Smile

Hope she feels better soon.
