Moving to cows milk

Hi all, ds is 1yo and we're just starting to move to cows milk, one question though. He has a milk feed at around 11 for nap time, say im going to be out all morning can I just put cows milk in his sterilised bottle and then leave it in the insulated bit of my changing bag till I need it, maybe 3-4 hours? his formula I add powder to cool boiled water which means I 'make' it when I need it. (I know thats not the way to do it but thats another story for another day)

Essentially for TLDR how long can cows milk be in a sterile bottle in a zip up insulated compartment for?

How much milk is he having per day?

Too much cows milk can cause issues with iron intake I think?

From when we switched to cows milk dd would only have it twice a day

he has 11, 4.30 and bedtime 7.30 2x210ml and 1x150. We're trying to drop the 150 in favour of a snack

Does he not have any in the morning?

Just if he had one morning and one night you wouldn't be worrying about storing any!

one at 11am ish at naptime, none before that

Does he need milk to go to sleep?

Nouseforausername · 21/06/2014 07:52

if we're at home yes, if we're out and about he will doze off normally. I guess I could just take a pouch of ready made and a bottle for a just incase situation? they have a rather long date on them dont they

They do yes

You should also probably look at a bottle to cup switch too

Nouseforausername · 21/06/2014 08:18

how would I keep the cups sterile though they dont have a lid on them? or can I stop sterilising?

Gosh I sound really clueless dont I Blush

You don't really need to sterilise if your not using formula at 12 months

And I did mean a lidded cup like the tommee tippee sippy ones? Technically you could sterilise them but as I say it's not really needed!

It's good for little one to drink through something that they don't need to suck
