Hello
Had to put my one month year old on aptamil comfort and he is currently on 150ml a feed. Is anyone else using this or know if its ok to up the feed?
It says around 220 ml for two month year old. So am i able to give him more? he just is not satisfied and is waking every two hours for feeding. Maybe if he has more per feed he will not wake up so often and feel more satisfied. What do people think? Please help me :) thank u

A one month old baby has a stomach the size of an egg - about 150ml. Your baby needs to feed frequently as his stomach can't hold more than that. As he grows he'll go for longer between feeds, you can't make him go longer than his body is designed to.

I'm afraid to say that 2 hourly feeding is really normal for a 1 month old baby. It won't last forever and the time between feeds will naturally begin to space out.

Current NHS recommendation is to feed on demand, so however much your baby wants when they want. This could be differing amounts at each feed. It's not a good idea to try and persuade your baby to take more than they really want and to artificially space out feeds.

Do you have a partner that can take over some of the feeds so that you can get a reasonable stretch of sleep? Even if this is only at the weekends if you our partner is working. Or maybe a friend/family member can come over and give you a break?
