Hi,

Going to Hayle in Cornwall 16th Sept, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of places (tourist attractions / restaurants etc.) that allow or dissallow b'feeding, we were going to try the eden project but can't find if they have anywhere to b'feed.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

feed anywhere... its not illegal.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2006 12:01

I agree, it is fine to just find a quiet corner to feed, or sit in one of their cafes. There is no reason that you can't breastfeed where you want to - your baby has a right to eat too.

JessaJam · 04/09/2006 12:01

Agree with quootiepie...

Am sure Eden will be fine about it, is a sort of fluffy liberal values kind of establishment...(at least it's public face is.)

milward · 04/09/2006 12:04

Just bf as you need to & anywhere.

alison222 · 04/09/2006 12:05

Fed quite happily in the cafe at the Eden Project when DD was about 5 mths. No Problems
I think if you just get on with it no-one bats an eyelid.
I never met anyone while out that said anything to me when I was feeding either of mine

Hi bbrady... I'm from Hayle (tho' don't live there any more)! Have a lovely time. Not sure about b'feeding... I was of the 'do it anywhere and sod 'em' school of thought. I can't imagine you'll have any problems anywhere though. Not sure where you're staying, but I can recommend the Pizza Patio on the main road through the town for a nice meal (v. child-friendly). Also not sure how old your lo is, but Cheney Mill Farm Park at St Erth is good fun if your lo likes animals as is Paradise Park in Hayle itself. (My dds are now 4 and 6, but have been taken to both those places regularly since they were about a year old or so.) If you have good enough weather for the beach (hope you do), park at the Bluff pub and go down the steps there. The tide leaves lovely shallow pools which are great for paddling and nice and safe. Hope you have a great time.

Breastfed anywhere and everywhere in Cornwall 5 years ago. All fine esp Eden Project. HTH

Tommy · 04/09/2006 12:37

Eden Project is very right on for babies - lovely wooden high chairs and organic baby food - I'm sure they'd be delighted if you breastfed anywhere!

wartywarthog · 04/09/2006 12:43

i used to take a shawl type thing around with me so that when i b/f absolutely nobody could see anything. worked very well and nobody complained. i don't bother with it now, just brazenly whip my tits out and still no-one complains they really can't see anything, and probably don't even notice.

We went to Hayle (St Ives Bay Caravan Park) with a 3yo and a fully breastfed 6 week old. So I ended up breastfeeding all over the place as you can imagine - particularly eating establishments! I brestfed at Eden Project (must have done - we were there all day) and at Paradise Park, on the beach etc. I was a brazen second timer though!

Overrun · 04/09/2006 14:54

Went to Cornwall on honeymoon with ds1 when he was 10 weeks old, bf every where with no problems. Sure you will be fine

BettySpaghetti · 04/09/2006 14:59

I'm another one that brastfed at the Eden Project (and numerous other places around Cornwall) -never had any problems anywhere.

Enjoy your holiday

Mandymoo · 05/09/2006 16:48

Hey! I live in Hayle and i have breastfed EVERYWHERE! {grin] - I think the majority of tourist attractions are ok. Eden should be fine - these places are family orientated so as such should welcome BFing imo!!! Have a great hol X

Enid · 05/09/2006 17:00

I have bfed at the eden project

it was great, it took my mind off the utter boringness of it

Ellbell · 05/09/2006 18:21

Would it be easier to draw up a list of people who haven't fed at the Eden Project?

bundle · 05/09/2006 18:29

I think it's virtually compulsory to bf at Eden...

chellebelle · 08/09/2006 13:50

I bf'd right in the middle of eden project's main resteraunt not far from the tills (there weren't any tables to the side with enough space for my family) so everyone had to walk past me and no one said anythimg.

Also bf'd on the beach in cornwall, the beachside in Looe and basically anywhere comfortable. I did occasionally hid behind my DH but that was mainly due to cold winds. Didn't get any dirty looks the whole time (and believe me I was looking - I had my retorts all lined up ready and never got to use one!)

PigeonPie · 08/09/2006 14:42

boooo I'm one of those who hasn't bfed at the Eden Project and I've been a Friend since the beginning! No chance now as just come back from PIL who live in Penzance and we're not going back down for quite a while (it's almost 300 miles) and DS is now 9 months and can only feed where it is really really quiet!
