Help! Is this a nursing strike???

Worrying that my EBF DS isn't taking enough milk feeds - he's 8mo and in the last week it's getting really hard to BF him during the day.

Today he last BFed at 11.30 and he's refused all offers of boob since then! Very unlike him!

He's been on 3 meals for the last 2 weeks or so and he eats solids with gusto.

Between 7am and 7pm I'm struggling to get 3 decent BFs - is this normal? He used to BF an awful lot, every 2 hours or so during the day.

Just wondering if this lack of interest is a phase or if it's normal. I keep thinking that milk should be his main source of nutrition and it feels like that's not the case at the moment.

Bump!

This morning he wouldn't feed on waking - first time EVER!

I'm in uncharted waters here as none of my friends/family have EBF at this age.

Any experiences? TIA

No advice but marking place as am having same thing with my 9 mo. He often doesn't feed until a couple hours after waking up, usually just before his first nap (though he does have a feed in the night) Does yours sleep through?

No, he doesn't sleep through, he'll feed 2/3 times a night but only 1 of those is a proper feed iyswim - others are just brief sucks to go back to sleep.

It's good to know we're not alone :)

I'm hoping he's taking what he needs. He's very active and mega distracted so I do the best I can but he's always just done what he wants and I don't think I can do anything to change that! Good luck!
