11wk BF Poop with black bits in it

Hello.
This is the first time I post on Mumsnet.

I am EBF my baby and now he's 11 weeks old. He does one big poop once a day and they always look yellow and runny, sometimes there are white seeds. But for the past 4 days I've noticed his poop has got some tiny black bits in it....some bits look like tiny little lines, some are just tiny black dots. They were soft when I rubbed them with a cotton bud.

Has anyone ever seen something like this before please? I'm worrying if anything black in the poop could be related to blood. I've been trying to call my GP first thing every morning to make an appointment, but they kept telling me that they are full :(

Banana in poo leaves black bits, but I am guessing your baby is too young for that.

Sometimes black bits can be blood. Have you got cracked nipples? They can bleed during breastfeeding and the blood end up being digested by baby. Vomiting can also cause bleeding if your baby has had a bug recently. Oesophagial or stomach bleeds are another source. If concerned please get it checked.

Black bits usually indicate blood. I'd keep trying the doctors or maybe ring 111 for advice. Do you have bleeding nipples at all?

I know this sounds obvious, so apologies if you have already done this, but did you tell the GP receptionist that the appointment is for your 11 week old baby? At my GPs they give appointments as a priority to small babies, and they reserve some each day for urgent cases.

If no luck there, do ring 111 as they can make an appointment for you eg at an out of hours GPs.

I did told the GP receptionist that its for my newborn and even mentioned that there maybe blood in his poop. She told me to try the walk-in which is about a 4 hours wait or try to call again first thing the next morning (which I have tried 4 days and always for almost an hour to get thru). They r just not really helpful unfortunately :(
But I will definitely keep trying >_

Can you request a call back from the GP? Or tell them that if you can't see a GP you might have to go to A&E - I think GPs get fined now if their patients go to A&E unnecessarily so that might encourage them to fit you in.
