Tingling nipples between feeds

Dd is 3 weeks old and ebf. She is gaining weight well and although we are still fine tuning the latch I think we are getting there and feeding is usually pain free after initial couple of sucks. My question is though that I get tingly, slightly itchy nipples between feeds. I was wondering if it might be thrush but it seems that is usually painful, and no sign of it in dd's mouth. Any ideas?

When I hear my baby cry the sensation in them is absolutely bizarre!! It feels like electric shocks are going through them - it's a very weird sensation!!

It happens even if I just think about feeding my son

He is 10 weeks now and it shows no sign of stopping

The tingling you can feel is your let down. You might find you leak a bit when it happens. My nipples/areolae go a really strange shape when I feel it too! All totally normal

It could be letdown, as others have said - have you had a look? Do the tingles happen randomly, or in response to your baby's cries?

I had it all the time I breasted! And I fed them all until they were 15/16 months. Not only that, I leaked (squirted) like a err well very very leaky thing.
I found out, late on with my third, that pressing the nipples for a short while calmed it down. Wish I'd known sooner.

Thanks all. Seems to be quite random, and I don't get it when I am actually feeding or even when I start to randomly leak milk if dd is flailing about not wanting to latch or after a shower. Can feel quite uncomfortable at times - might be breasts sort if re-filling I suppose, does that sound likely? I am just paranoid that it might be a sign of something bad!

Nope, sounds exactly like I had. Try the pressing thing, it may help.
