advice on using double pump...

So, I've just bought a double pump (going back to work soon and figured that would be more efficient than my manual one) but having just tried it, I think I need 3 hands... I followed the instructions and held the funnels in place but then had to get into a weird position to try and press the on button and adjust the suction without letting the funnels go. Am I being stupid?

I saw this bra as an accessory when buying pump but thought it looked a bit daft, now I'm thinking it might be a good idea. Is it worth ?30 though?

Can anybody give me some hints/tips? Does anyone use that bra? Is it a must? DH said I should just cut holes in a sports bra but I can't see that working. Any help appreciated!

TIA

Hi Asur - no you're not being stupid at all and it does seem like you need one extra hand!

I exclusively expressed for a year using a double pump so I hope I can help....
I would attach the funnels to my breasts one at a time, and then would hold both of them with one hand (one arm going across my front as if I was tickling myself under my other armpit) whilst switching on the pump to the required level of suction. Once that was done, I'd put both hands back onto the collection bottles....does that make any sense at all??
I didn't use the bra but did consider it. If I'm not lucky with bfing this time, think I'll definitely have to get it as life will be much harder trying to entertain a toddler & pumping!!
Alternatively there is a technique of using hair bobbles to tie the pump onto the straps of your nursing bra - here

Hope this helps!

thank you for those tips Shivs - will give it a go today and see how I do

I have to say, I think the instructions were either
written by someone who was double-jointed or someone who had never tried it!

Hiya,

just thought I'd update. Used the bobble technique thing on one side while holding the other while starting it up - worked well... Although, either my bobbles were too small or my boobs are too big as I needed 3 joined together

kayzed - that would definately be a sexy little set if it does have matching knickers
