Swollen left breast

Am breastfeeding 7 month old DD morning, night and once in the day. Today have found my left breast is swollen and feels bruised, like it's been kicked. Can't think of any injury reason it would be like this. Bit of info; I have a lump in this breast which I got checked out in Jan - they scanned and said it was a lump of milk, this lump does now feel smaller but swelling is on different side. Also DD has her bottom teeth and will sometimes bite - could this be it? I feel a bit run down but don't have a fever. Any ideas welcome.

Get it checked out by your GP and if need be ask for a referral to the breast unit.

I had mastitis a few weeks ago and once it had cleared up I was left with a swollen breast. I spoke to 3 GPs and 2 health visitors about it and they all said it was just swollen tissue and would go down eventually. It didn't and yesterday morning a small spot on the side of my breast opened up and began leaking pus. I saw a different GP who told me to go to A&E and the upshot is, after a night in hospital, it turns out I have had a 6cm breast abscess. I've had to have it manually drained and now need to get the wound redressed every day and go back to hospital on Friday to be rescanned to see if it needs draining again.

I don't want to scare you, but the last 36 hours have been very scary and I just wish a) that someone had told me it might be an abscess and b) that I had trusted my instincts that something wasn't right.
