One thing after another! Help!

At 5 weeks we got our little girl snipped for tongue tie, I thought after that things would start to improve.

Just over a week ago, she developed oral thrush. I waited a week to see if it would go on its own and then went to the docs and got some drops to get rid of it. I've just realised 5 days on that I haven't been giving her enough of the medicine and its still there and really bad. :(

She is also constipated!

She is mixed fed due to poor weight gain (tongue tie issue!).

I have also started taking fenugreek tablets as I panicked about my supply.

The last couple of days when I have been breast feeding her in the day (no issues at night currently!), she has been feeding off me for a long time (over an hour) and has been crying at the breast and once off screaming like she is starving still.

After feeding off me I have given her formula/and or expressed milk she will go on to take 4oz, which is what she normally takes at a normal feed.

When she comes off me, I can see there is still milk and I can hear her swallowing so I know there is still milk there, plus she doesn't have this problem through the night.

Sorry for the rambling but anyone shed any light and offer any help?

:(

Firstly the thrush - the drops aren't very effective so I would get Daktarin Oral Gel for her, it should clear her mouth in a couple of days. You need to treat your nipples too or you will reinfect her, so you need clotrimazole (canestan) cream - even if you have no symptoms. Also make sure you are sterilising any teats or dummies and hot washing bras, breastpads, muslins etc.

What makes you think she is constipated?

It might be she's developing a bottle preference. Downing 4oz doesn't mean she didn't get anything from you, babies will often just chug from a bottle due to the milk filling their mouths.

Are you doing switch feeding to up your supply? Breast compressions?

Thanks!

She went from at least 1 poo daily, up to 4 some days and then nothing!

When she has had a poo they have been really smelly and explosion ones, which have ended up down her back!

Been switching breasts and doing compressions as well!

Is she in pain when she isn't pooing? A few days between poos can be totally normal for a breastfed baby so long as they aren't in pain and the tummy isn't hard or distended.

I think her tummy does cause her pain at times. It has been hard and you can hear it gurgling away at times.

Hv has suggested water in between feeds, but she won't take it now. Pushes the bottle away.

She has been having 2 full formula feeds as well as bf. Hv seemed quite concerned over no poo.

She's screamed most of this evening tonight, maybe when she comes off me screaming it's not a hunger scream, it's a not feeling very well scream?!? God know now!
