Anyone else found that using dr browns bottles reduced or stopped posseting?

Hi pigletandme! I tried Dr Browns bottles a few times with my ds as he was a bit colicky and sicky but it actually made the sickness worse! He was sick quite badly on one occasion covering my back and the carpet with spatters to about 5ft away We use tommee tippee bottles now and he is quite settled with them with only small possets every now and again!

which tommee bottles? are they easier to clean than the dr browns?

Not sure that Dr Browns reduced DS's possetting, he still does a bit. We try to keep him upright for as long as possible after a bottle and also found that raising the feet at the head end of his cot seems to stop him bringing back so much milk at night.

However IMHO they have drastically helped reduce his colic and that is what we bought them for.
(along with Colief). We also noticed that he doesn't seem to burp as much with DR Browns, as though he's not taking as much wind in.

Yes they do take a bit longer to clean and put together, but same as above - anything for a little peace and quiet.

PITA to clean (IMHO) but we used them (and still do, dd is nearly 14 months). We found they made the burps / posseting etc. much better particularly in the early days. I'd recommend them. We now do ours in the dishwasher, so not much faff.

If you archive search my name and browns I've posted a fair amount of stuff on them. hth.

Sorry pigletandme, first chance i've had to get back on to the computer! The tommee tippee bottles are just the normal ones, "Nuby system", not the ones that look like huge boobs They are far easier to clean cos there is no faffing with millions of little bits. There isn't any extra bits and they look like normal bottles but seem to have worked with ds
