Omeprazole and formula

Hi, we've been battling reflux for some time now and after trying ranitidine and gaviscon we have been prescribed omeprazole. DD has been on anti reflux milk for a while and where it has def helped with sickness it bungs her up so she's had lactulose and/or movicol to get things moving but def gets tummy ache a lot. I wonder what your experiences are. Should we try comfort milk or keep giving lactulose (she is wise to the syringe and jams her mouth shut so quite a battle to get it down her!) Normal formula with gaviscon just made her more sick and horrifically constipated. Your views / recommendations very much welcomed!

Hi there, I just posted about our experience with reflux on the reflux support thread. A combination of normal formula with omeprazole has worked best for DS. I hated the anti-reflux milk, he really struggled with constipation after it, poor thing. Loads better now and he's eating a lot more and managing to keep most of it in too. Becoming quite the chubster :)

How old is your DD?

She's just turned 7 months so we are weaning and she is on 3 meals a day and although we have been able to reduce some of her milk feeds we are yet to drop any. How long did you find the omeprazole took to work?
