I saw the thread from the Imperial students in Active again today. They have updated their request.

They took comments on board and have abandoned the breastmilk testing idea. And have posted a new survey about formula feeding.

FlipFlopWaddle · 18/05/2014 07:06

At least Imperial and Bounty have seen the light, just Stirling to go then!

meditrina · 18/05/2014 08:25

It wasn't "Imperial" in the sense that the institution has endorsed or produced anything. It was a group of students doing a project about developing a new product.

This is their thread

Following advice/suggestions from the first bit, they are now seeking information about how people actually use formula with aim of producing a gadget that makes that safer. So if the poster/s who made that suggestion see this, you have the chance to contribute to your suggestion being taken forwards. And they seem to be after views of anyone who has used formula (the survey in the post in the evening of 17 May, not the one in the OP).

(PS: apologies for mild diversion into Imperial's totally separate project, but I hope it's also a welcome bump).

I wonder what the results would show if someone sent a sample of formula for testing?

squizita · 18/05/2014 09:53

McBaby ... "woman, your poor feeble hands do not have enough omega oils in them to life the Aptimil tin and scoop out powder... WHY NOT TRY OUT VITAMIN PILLS?"

I'm guessing if you got the best breast milk, the worst breast milk, formula or anything... the result would suggest the woman BUYS THEIR PILLS.

McBaby · 18/05/2014 11:18

I would guess that would be there standard answer for everything they test.

But it does sound like my HV who came to see me who said I wouldn't be allowed to continue breastfeeding unless I took some vitamins as otherwise my milk would not be good enough!
