Clicking, where to get advice?

Hi, DD is 8 days old. BF was a nightmare for a start, incredibly painful, constant feeding and latch problems.

midwife helped loads with latch so its getting less painful, she also checked for tongue tie. However, DD clicks when feeding, is obviously losing her suction and then sort of eventually slips backward down the nipple. Shes pretty content although is feeding a lot these past couple of days.

I just don't know where to go to get advice, except here! I have HV and MW again next week so can check with them but meantime thought i'd see if anyone can point us in the right direction here?

Hi sarahjinx - this kellymom link is quite useful for possible clicking causes. kellymom.com/bf/concerns/child/clicking-when-nursing/

Hi, I am presuming this child is your first?? I had the same problem with my DD, I was very clumsy with feeding aswell and took us a while to get the hang of it.
I found it easier to feed with my DD the other way. So instead of her body going across my body (the conventional way), it was easier for me to pop her on a pillow on the arm of the chair and have her feet round my back.
If that even makes sense lol. I hope it does. But you are doing great and with time it will get a lot easier xx
