Scooping powders vs weighing

Hello

I'm new to mumsnet and have a quick question about how to measure aptamil formula powder.

On the back of the pack it says 1 scoop = 4.5g

So when I'm making up a 210ml feed it says 7 scoops.... Which should be 31.5g (7 x 4.5)

I was double checking my measuring earlier on today (I'm paranoid about using too much or too little powder) and my 7 scoops only weighed 26g. That's more than 5g out which doesn't sound like much but equates to an additional scoop as stated on the packet!!

I am using the leveller and not compacting the powder down in the scoop.

Should I continue to use the scoop or weigh the powder out each time?

Thanks!!

Just scoop. The powder does settle over time, especially if you accidentally knock or move the box. You can "fluff" it by closing the lid, holding it shut and turning it upside down then upright again. Tbh I wouldn't worry, I think you're over thinking it,Grin carry on doing as you are.
