How many feeds for a ebf 5 month old

Dd is just over 5 months old and demand fed but I also feed her to sleep if we are at home so she doesn't 'demand' very often. She doesn't tend to go longer than 3 hours without a feed. I think she is having about 5 feeds in the day and 2-4 in the night. Is this about right? It doesn't seem like much in the day but she doesn't get hungry much and she will eat when I put her down for a nap.
Sometimes if we are out and about ill try to feed her before a sleep so she doesn't wake up hungry but she gets distracted very easily so won't always take much. She tends to grin at me rather than eat but that's ok isn't it? She'd make up for it later if she didn't have a full feed wouldn't she? Sorry probably silly questions but I didn't feed past 3 months with my son so it's all a bit new to me.

6m here and the same. it's a right pain. I feel she doesn't eat much in the day and then eats brilliantly - and frequently - at night! I think I was offering too often in the day, and she'd always have a bit, but this meant she was never really hungry. I was doing this to try and give her more in the day but don't think it worked. I'm now starting to take more notice and feed only about every 3 hours in the day. she's therefore eating better. no difference to the nights though I think it's normal they are too interested/busy to eat in the day...

oh, she'd definitely let you know if she was hungry. she'll just be eating more later!

Thank you! Yeh I found if I fed too often she wasn't hungry so I wait now or obviously offer boob when she's tired. Yeh these bloody night times. I know she can survive on two feeds in the night but she mostly wakes more thn that. I'm resigned to it now.
