travel steriliser for breastpump bits

I'm going away to a child free wedding next weekend and my parents are coming along to look after my 4 month old while I'm at the wedding. At home I use a bulky microwave steriliser to sterilise the bits fro my breastpump. Any suggestions for a cheap travel steriliser I can use for the weekend and that I could also take camping and to work in future?

Will you have access to a microwave? The Medela microwave sterilizer bags are v handy, you just stick the pump bits in the bag with water and bung it in for five minutes - job done. Obviously not much use for camping, mind. You can also run pump parts through a (hot) dishwasher.

I don't think I will have access to a microwave. I'll have to pump at the wedding and I think it's in a marquee

You can just use a large tub and some sterilising tablets. Or you can get travel sterilising bags that you fill with water and they do the same thing, just more pricey.

Are you going to be keeping the milk? If you're not, I wouldn't worry about sterilizing the pump parts between sessions, just rinse it. The main risk from not entirely clean pump bits is contaminating the milk.

There are travel steriliser bags to do cold water sterilising with tablets, however as you are child free, are you keeping the milk? As previous poster said, there isn't a need to sterilise if this is the case.

And I have repeated the last two posters, sorry about that. I am sure it will all be fine, and I shall now go off to bed.

Tupperware box and boiling water? Some people are if the opinion that you can stop sterilising bits around that age as long as parts are washed well in hot soapy water I think.

Thank you everyone. I would like to keep the milk so I will probably use the tupperware/tub idea. That's saved me some money! Thank you!
