When to start expressing

DS is 2 weeks old. Breastfeeding is going well - he's gaining lots of weight and although I still have some pain if we get the latch slightly wrong, or if he sleeps too long and my breasts get too full, generally things are fine.

Last time with DD I waited the recommended (I think) 6 weeks before starting to express and offering ebf in a bottle. I am thinking of starting sooner this time as DD struggled to accept the bottle, and also with two DCs this time around it would be very helpful if others can feed DS.

So when did others start expressing? Is 2-3 weeks in too soon second time around?

I only stopped bf DD 6 months ago if that's relevant.

ThanksThanks

I started my 4wo with an expressed bottle at two weeks with no problems. I left it til 12 weeks with my first and he never, ever took a bottle so I wanted to avoid going through that again!

Thank you Jelly! That's cheered me up. I might give it a go this week.
