BF 1 year old but missing feeds as I'm poorly

I usually feed DS once in the morning and to go to sleep at night. I have developed a nasty stomach bug so family are having to look after him as I'm too ill. this will mean I'll miss tonight and tomorrow's feed at least. should I pump or will my milk supply be OK for missing a few feeds? Don't want to force the end of bf because of an acute illness that should be better soon.

Just purely based on my own experience, it'll be fine. I used to be able to skip the odd feed (eg if I was going out and someone else put him to bed) and never noticed a thing. You might need to pump or hand express just to make yourself comfortable though, it's surprising how much they drink!

I am no expert so hope one will be along but I think missing a couple of feeds on the trot will be fine after a year of BF.
I returned to work when DS was six months and therefore missed three feeds a day on my four work days and continue to feed the rest of the time - with no evidence if supply being affected. (Boobs are clever ! Grin
Maybe just a bit uncomfortable overnight if 'full'.
Hope that helps - get well soon.

Just re read your OP, I recon two feeds would be fine, any more than that I'd express just to be on the safe side. And you'd need to probably anyway for yourself!

Hope you get well soon by the way

IME your milk supply will cope after this time, but I used to suffer a lot from mastitis if changing routine, so take care.
