How many formula mls should a 2 week old be taking?!

Ours was taking 90-100mls at a go and sleeping 3 hours. Last couple of nights at night time he has been very unsettled (seems colicky? Screaming and crying a lot after a feed) and last night DH decided it was because he was hungry and gave him a whopping 140mls. He drank it and did eventually settle for a few hours but I am not convinced that it was a good idea. Surely that's an awful lot for a 2 week old? He woke this morning and I gave him 100mls and he fussed a bit and then settled with swaddling and a dummy but I'm not sure he'll stay settled now (probably just me being anxious now- I'm knackered! lol)

I have no idea if big feeds like that would harm him. It seems so much. He's on Aptimel comfort because he wasn't pooing for a while but poos now seem to be happening at least once a day.

How much does he weigh?

At the last weigh in he was 8lb 3oz. He has gained 3oz since birth. I mentioned the extra grub to the midwife this morning and she didn't seem concerned so I'm hoping it's just a growth spurt thing....

90-100mls, 6-8 feeds a day seems about right to me. I don't think a one off big feed is going to harm him though. They seem to have growth spurts on and off all the time at the beginning and of course are unsettled for reasons other than hunger too.

Cheers! He was weighed this morning and has gained another 3oz so I'm tihnking, yes, growth spurt! lol

my 3 meek old takes 4oz every 3 hours sometimes with top up to of 2 oz. I was concerned as thought it was far too much but was reassured this is fine and to be led by them. she did weigh 9lb 10 at birth at now 10lb 8 at 3 weeks I just remember that the recommended amounts are for average weighing babies which at birth is 7lb 7! so I wouldn't worry if your baby is taking it he obviously needs it.
