How much do I need to express

I have a 6 week old ds who is ebf. I would like to start expressing so dp can give him a feed at night and I can get bit of sleep. I have no idea how much I need to express. Should I just express all I can and then see how much he wants or is there are there any guidelines about how much milk breastfed babies need per feed?

My DD is the same age. I've been expressing from one boob due to mastitis for the last week. The advice I read suggested about 5floz per feed at this age but some babies will take more as they drink faster from a bottle.

The average is about 25oz a day, so if your baby has about 8 feeds a day then each will be 3oz or so.
