Bottle refuser

Hi. My 8 week old DS is ebf. He took a bottle of expressed milk earlier this week with no problems however its a serious case of beginners luck as he won't take one since! I just want to be able to leave him with dh for a couple of hours with a bottle occasionally.

Why won't he take it any more? He literally gulped the first one down. We've tried all sorts if positions and don't try it when he's starving. Help!

Hi Stretchy - I sympathise, as one of my DC wouldn't take a bottle at all. I think you have to keep trying, and if he does have a bottle, then try to give him one once every 24 hours so that he doesn't forget.

This might be able to help you more:

All the best :)

Thanks Lego. We did leave it a couple of days between the successful feed and the next but it seems so odd he won't take one after drinking ounces originally. Going to try him every day from now on.

They're a bit random these babies, eh? :)
