What should expressed milk look like

I expressed last night for the first time and put it in the fridge. Looking at it this morning it's looks funny. Like whitish water with white droplets floating through it. I know the milk separates but didn't expect it to look like that. Is that normal?

Mine was grey-ish white with a layer of yellowy fat on top after a night in the fridge. Are the droplets near the top or all through it? I only have my experience to draw on so no idea what's normal, sorry!

It won't look anything like homogenised cow's milk, all nice and white. It will separate into a very watery layer, and blobs of white and/or yellow fat.

But basically, unless it's bright green and glowing,if it's milk from your breast, then it's fine.

Expressed milk always looks a bit odd straight out the fridge ime. I've had green or blue tinged in the past Confused

The ds's never cared though!

Thanks everyone. I was expecting layers, like oil on water so you've all put my mind at rest that my milk isn't defective!! Thank you

Mine looked like this and weirded me out too. I shook it and it went back to normal :)
