Breastfeeding and lochia

hope this is the best place to put this thread... baby boy now 12 days old ( already!) and we are breastfeeding. After a feed I get a bit of fresh bleeding - all as expected and not v much at all - I'm not worried about it happening but just wondered how long I can expect that to keep happening? Lochia otherwise is tailing off to peachy/brown colour.

Background is that I had a PPH when he was born and unfortunately finding it quite hard to 'get over' - when I feel a dribble of blood or see the fresh blood on the pad I get a bit panicky and freaked out :( it's frustrating because I was never squeamish about blood before and it's much less than a period and I know it will happen, but I just can't seem to control the panic response at the minute.

Hey cream congratulations on the birth of you baby boy. I can only give you my experience which was that for about two weeks post birth whilst bf and expressing I got a fresh dribble of blood come through. I believe it's because bf helps your uterus contract quicker. However if you're getting anxiety because of it, or are worried about it carrying on much longer then have a chat to your HV or make a GP appointment. Best wishes, enjoy your gorgeous newborn.
