Occasional formula

DD is 4 months and ebf. Have never expressed or used bottles but got a couple of nights out coming up. Not really wanting to use formula but need a night out and a break.

Thinking if using pre-made formula as it will be so occasionally. To give this are we better using a sippy cup or the pre-made starter bottles? Also if we use a cup does it need sterilising?

It will need sterilising for a 4 month old. a very thorough wash in very hot water then a boil would do it if you don't want to go to buy a steriliser for 1 night!!- same goes for a pump-probably not worth buying one for 1 night! I know SMA do sterilised teats for their pre-made bottles if you don't want to buy bottles etc- If the night goes well you can then just keep the teat to sterilise in boiling water for next time!!Check your dd will take them first obviously!

At 4 months she can start with a cup but she's very unlikely to take a full feed from it. I know it seems like every bf baby on here rejects bottles but she might not! IIRC the SMA ready-to-feed bottles have nuk latex teats, which are often recommended for bf babies. I would try one of those first.
