DS fighting the boob

He's 4 weeks old and we haven't had any problems Re breastfeeding. Recently though he seems to fight my boob before eventually latching on. I don't understand why I'll try to offer my breast and he's clearly hungry and looking for it but won't take it. Hel then get more and more frustrated looking for it, when it's Right there

My four week old does this too. I have nothing helpful to add sorry, only empathy!

I try taking her away from the breast after a few mins of fussing and then trying again. Usually works. Hoping is a phase add it makes bf in public hard work.

Have you tried lying back with him on top of you and letting him find the nipple himself? You might have to help him get his head near it to start with but then all the pushing and head shaking makes sense!

My 4 week old has done this since birth - waiting for him to grow out of it!

Have tried other positions - we like nursing laying down but don't get on with rugby ball position.
