Cluster feeding

PeaceLillyDoge · 22/03/2014 10:02

5 minuets on, 30 minute sleep, 5 minutes on, 30 minute sleep ad infinitum...

Is this my life now? Oh for even a 10 minute feed and an hours kip!

LO is 16 days old.

Any encouragement greatly appreciated.

It's normal, it doesn't last :)

Try working out how to feed lying down, and ways of co-sleeping safely.

Mine is 4 weeks old now and has (touch wood) just stopped cluster feeding. It's knackering and you have my sympathies but just keep going as it's just your LO's way if getting your supply up to meet demands. Every time she cluster fed I'd be online making sure it's 'normal' and it really is.
Be prepared for the 3 week growth spurt as cluster feeding will step up a notch for a day or two and then your LO will sleep for practically 24 hours to make up for it. Afterwards you'll notice that constant feeding dwindles.
Sorry to say the words that every one says but "it does get better". Stay strong, stay comfy and surround yourself with food, water and the tv remote. You'll get through if - promise!
