Probably stupid question about making up formula

I have been using ready made formula but now have some lactose free powder. I have read the instructions and can see how to make it but my question is, if I make it up in advance and keep it in the fridge, can I reheat it to give to my 7 month old DS or do I have to make up each bottle as I need it?

I preamble my formula bottles. My dd has 8oz bottles I make then like this

  • 4oz hot water
  • add all formula
  • put in fridge
  • add 4 oz hot water when needed

I find it's the perfect temp to feed immediately then. Hope this helps x

That should read I premake not preamble!

laura2323 that sounds like a really good idea. I'll do that. Thanks.

We make all our bottles up as we need them but now he's taking so much milk they take longer to cool down. I'm wondering if i can add half hot boiled water (to kill the bacteria in the milk powder) and then top up with cold boiled water to bring the temp down..?

Doodle that works too - as long as there's enough very hot water to kill any possible bugs and the cold isn't added until a couple of minutes of vigorous shaking.
